Hi, I'm Amelie
Project manager and parent. Expat living in Paris, France.
A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn't in our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, heightened expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Over time, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Ember Native Signal
Most content online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical guidance grounded in real life in France.
What This Site Represents (And What It Doesn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in France
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in France goes on, and so does the process of learning. As long as this information remains useful, I will continue documenting our discoveries.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Amelie
